Celtic Tattoos - Why Are They So Popular

Celtic tattos are still one of the most popular types of design despite their long history. These designs have existed for thousands of years, yet more than one thousand people search for information about celtic tattoo designs every day. So why are these designs still such a popular choice for tattoos?

The Celtic people have a long and proud history. From ancient times their people have shown an artistic ability to create complex works of art. These elaborate patterns took pride of place on their stonework, metalwork, weapons and jewelry. In fact ancient celtic designs carved in stone can still be found in both Ireland and Scotland.

Celtic tattoo designs usually consist of elaborate patterns of lines, loops and spirals that are linked together in a decorative manner. Occasionally animal designs, often depicting the tiger and the lion are incorporated into the tattoo design. These celtic animal designs (often known as zoomorphic tattoo designs) differ from traditional celtic patterns as the various lines and strands of the design end in animal heads, feet and tails instead of following a never ending path.

The meaning of these patterns is not readily apparant. To find the real meaning of celtic artwork you have to look much deeper. The constant interlacing of lines and spirals symbolizes the connection between the physical and spiritual worlds. And the never ending route of the loops and spirals represents the never ending cycle of life, death and rebirth.

Celtic designs also represent the fight and the heart of the Celtic people who were renowned throughout the world as courageous warriors. And it's thanks to a combination of these noble values and the timeless symbolism of these patterns that they remain such a popular choice for tattoo designs.

The most popular and well known of all the celtic designs are the celtic knot and the celtic cross.

Celtic Knot: This tattoo consists of decorative loops with no beginning and no end which represents the continuing cycle of life and death.

Celtic Cross: The celtic cross is usually a highly elaborate design containing many interlinking spirals and strands. Once again, the lines used to create the outline of the cross don't have a beginning or an end, and as such represent the immortality of human life and love. The cross is also significant as the Celtic people believed it would protect them from their enemies.

Celtic tattoo designs are a great way of expressing pride in your ancestry whether you are of Irish, Scottish or Welsh descent. In fact these designs are highly popular among people from North America who have Celtic ancestors.

However, you should be aware that due to the elaborate nature of these patterns, celtic tattoo designs are not easy to create. So before you start, make sure that you find a tattoo artist who has experience in creating celtic tattoo designs. An eye for detail and the ability to place the lines and spirals in exactly the right place is vital. And even once you find a talented artist, it will take a lot of time, patience and dare I say it, tolerance of pain, in order to get your celtic design just right. So make sure that you find the perfect celtic design before you go any further.

Celtic Jewelry Is Distinctive And Distinguished

Celtic jewelry is like the Celtic countries from which it comes. Celtic jewelry has very distinctive designs and color schemes, and this jewelry looks very distinguished. Celtic is a term that describes the people, language, culture and products from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, the Isle of Man and Cornwall.

These countries and people are closely tied to the United Kingdom, but most of these people have very distinctive cultures and languages of their own. The products from the Celtic countries are beautiful, but they have very distinctive features of the culture of their people.

Celtic jewelry comes in many different styles and types, but all of these pieces have distinctive characteristics. Most people have seen examples of Celtic jewelry, but do not always know exactly where this jewelry comes from. The diamond engagement rings are available that present the best of Celtic jewelry.

Other rings from Celtic collections have much of the mystery that comes with the Celtic character. The rings have designs from pagan rituals, dragonflies, moonstones, spiders and crescent moons. Celtic jewelry is often in sterling silver, but the models are available in gold settings as well.

Celtic Jewelry Is Unusually Beautiful

The Celtic pendants are complementary to the rings, but these pieces usually have great stories or legends that come with them. The designers use the old Celtic legends when they craft their pieces for the market. A pendant inspired by a story about the children of Lir is inspired by the story from Celtic tradition.

The design incorporates symbols from this Celtic story. The swan theme from the story is evident with a careful look at the craftsmanship in this beautiful pendant. The Celtic jewelry is a conversation piece as well as a decoration. There are many different pendants that incorporate symbols inspired by this story

Other jewelry designs are inspired by other stories from the Celtic culture and tradition. The designs incorporate the symbols from the culture and traditions into the jewelry in very creative ways. The symbols are not readily apparent so it is very interesting to learn the stories and traditions to understand more of the jewelry.

The swan is a very important symbol in one famous story, but this symbol is not obvious in the pieces of jewelry. Usually information about the designs and the stories accompany the pieces of jewelry to inform the buyer about the designs. The information about the origins of the designs usually makes the pieces very special.

Celebrity Tattoos - The Latest Fashion Accessory

Celebrity tattoos are becoming more and more popular with every year that passes. These days it's common to see well known celebrities from the world of films, sport and music displaying their tattoos and body art on screen or in magazines.

But there was a time when tattoos were looked upon with contempt especially among the leading celebrities of the moment. Anyone who had tattoos was generally regarded as being on the fringes of society. However, all that started to change in the 1960s when prominent stars such as Janis Joplin started the trend for celebrity tattoos. Over time they have become more socially acceptable.

Today, celebrity tattoos have gone mainstream and the culture of celebrity tattoos covers acting, sport, music, models and people who are famous for being famous. Just look at some of the celebrities who are known to have tattoos; 50 Cent, Christina Aguilera, Pamela Anderson, David Beckman, Kelly Clarkson, Johnny Depp, Vin Diesel, Eminem, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Natalie Imbruglia, Angelina Jolie, Anna Kournikova, Lindsay Lohan, Nelly, Kelly Osbourne, Pink, Nicole Richie, Wesley Snipes, Britney Spears, Usher, Holly Valance and Elijah Wood, And there may be many more that could be added to that list who have tattoos hidden in more intimate places.

At present, Angelina Jolie is probably the most famous tattooed celebrity in Hollywood. Her designs include tribal dragons, a tiger and various pieces of foreign writing on her shoulders and arms. And a recent poll that voted her the sexiest woman in the world is further evidence that celebrity tattoos are now widely accepted.

And despite the potential for problems with their work other leading actors also display a wide range of tattoo designs.

In fact Johnny Depp is so heavily tattooed that he routinely has to have his skin painted to cover up his body art before he films certain scenes. However, some of his tattoos remain uncovered during filming and are incorporated into the character he is playing. This is another stong indication that celebrity tattoos are well and truly part of mainstream culture.

Vin Diesel and Wesley Snipes both have a number of tattoos on their arms and chest. Pamela Anderson had a barbed wire design tattooed on her arm for her role in the movie Barb Wire. And when she separated from her husband Tommy Lee, she had the tattoo on her finger that read "Tommy" changed to read "Mommy" to represent her commitment to her children.

Celebrity tattoos are also extremely popular in the music business, especially with rock stars, R&B artists and hip hop stars, such as Eminem, 50 Cent and Justin Timberlake.

However, you don't have to be a celebrity to get a celebrity tattoo. Anyone can get the hottest tattoo designs available regardless of their level of fame. It doesn't matter who you are, whether it's a movie star, rock star, shop assistant or factory worker, you can still enjoy having your own tattoo that makes a powerful statement about who you are and what you believe. And if you want the same type of tattoo as your favorite celebrity, there are many websites and magazines available that display great pictures of celebrity tattoos. So it's possible to find the celebrity tattoo design that you want within minutes of going online.

Celebrity Oops

Over the years, celebrities have entertained us with much more than just their singing an acting talents; from fashion foibles that have us incredulously exclaiming "what was [he/she] thinking wearing THAT?" to senseless ramblings that have left us rolling our eyes, celebs in the hot-spot have always been good for a mindless distraction.

Looking back through the Hollywood ages, there are so many celebrity "oops" we could point to.

There are is some of celebrities:

Alex Rodriguez, Andrew Lloyd Webber,
Angelica Panganiban, Angelina Jolly,
Anita Sorest, Bill O Reilly, Brad Pitt, Brendan Fraser, Bruce Springsteen, Cameron Diaz, Carson Palmer, Celine Dion, Cindy Carleton, Dan Brown, Dave Chappell, Dave Matthews,
David Beckham, David Letterman, Daniel Washington, Derek Jeter,
Diane Sawyer, Dick Wolf, Donald Trump, Elton John, Emery Lagans, George Lopez, George Lucas, Gisele Bunch, Hale Berry, Heidi Klum, Howard Stern, Hugh Grant, James Patterson Jay Leno, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Garner and many others!

There's Paris Hilton and her privileged bleach-blond antics, complete with missing panties and amateur home videos, all of them culminating, of course, in her trip to jail and out and back in again.

Of course there are the many breast "wardrobe malfunctions" spanning seemingly every performer from Angelina Joliet to Tea Leonie to the Mother of them all--Janet Jackson (but of course, what a disservice we'd do here to leave Miss Tara Reid off this list!). We could go on and on about the female anatomy and talk about girls like Lindsay Johan growing large before their time, but best to move on to the many other ways celebrities have entertained us with their lapses in judgment and consciousness.

The men are of course in no way untouchable.

There are the many love interests and rehabilitations of Sheen and company. (How many heavy Hollywood hitters were listed in Heidi Fleiss famed black book?) Yes, Hollywood is a haven for divorce lawyers and substance abuse programs.

The previously pristine Tom Cruise is always good for an oops whether Tom Katting around, or mixing it up with Brooke.

Dads like Jon Voight spill the beans about their daughters' mood swings, and oh how we love to follow the aftermath.

Gary Coleman has been disorderly, while Kevin Federline celebrates his recent divorce. Brad Pitt has broken Commandments and left Jen reeling while he sets up his new house. And from Ben Affleck to Matthew Mc Conaughey, the guys have had their 'coverage' problems, too.

Much to our collective average pleasure, the cameras (and the internet) are never far away from the stars, and we catch every gaff, foible, oops, lapse in style, and misplaced word. It may not be much, but its the best reminder we have that after all, humans are humans, and celebrities are no exception to that rule.

As long as we have celebrities, we'll have celebrity oops to entertain us after the glow of the limelight fades. It's a security we can all hold firm to as we chuckle at the misfortunes of the most fortunate.

Celebrity Inspired Jewelry - Get The Look For Less

These days, everyone wants the red carpet look without the million dollar price tag. If this sounds too good to be true, think again.. Thanks to celebrity inspired jewelry, it's now possible for anyone to own the best on a budget.

The craze with celebrity inspired jewelry first began with the diamond engagement ring given by Ben Affleck to Jennifer Lopez. A large emerald-cut pink diamond takes center stage as the main focal point of this beauty. One each side, white baguette diamonds proudly accentuate the enormous center stone. Fans fell in love with this ring around the world, which lead to the demand for designers to recreate the ring in a look that anyone could afford. The result was a sterling silver creation featuring a large emerald-cut pink cubic zirconia center stone, which is accented by white baguette cubic zirconia on each side.

It wasn't long before the trend of wearing celebrity inspired engagement rings became the next big thing in fashion jewelry. When Nick Lachey proposed to Jessica Simpson, a beautiful pear-cut diamond ring came into style in a big way. This bold beauty dazzled the media and fans alike. With one diamond located on each side of the stunning pear-cut center stone, Simpson's new ring was as bright as the spotlight itself. Once again, designers came through with a creation that everyone could afford. A bold sterling silver band with a large white cubic zirconia pear-cut center stone, which is accented by white cubic zirconia on each side, began showing up on jewelry lovers around the globe.

When it came to trends, Lachey and Simpson weren't the only musical duo making their way into the line of celebrity inspired jewelry. Kevin Federline gave Britney Spears a stunning ring featuring a cushion-cut center diamond sitting atop a double row of connected diamond-encrusted bands. The inspired design was recreated in sterling silver and glistening white cubic zirconia. The cushion-cut center stone, which replicates a flawless diamond, sits boldly above a double band of cubic zirconia accents.

What line of celebrity inspired jewelry would be complete without a dazzling pair of earrings? As far as trend setters go, Oprah Winfrey is one of the best. Not only has she made a name for herself in the media, but also for her fantastic fashion sense. Oprah's famous pear drop diamond earrings won her fans over in a flash. The design features a round white diamond stud and a large pear-cut diamond dangling below. In an effort to recreate this stunning design, jewelry manufacturers released their own version done in affordable sterling silver. Like Oprah's authentic diamonds, the inspired earring features a round white cubic zirconia stud and a dramatic pear shaped cubic zirconia dangling below. Because the earring is available in cubic zirconia and sterling silver, fans can have the look of the real diamond earring for a lot less cash.

When it comes to red carpet wear, the styles are both dramatic and unique. Any woman who watches the annual award shows will probably agree that seeing the glamorous jewelry is one of the most interesting aspects of the red carpet arrivals. Not many can afford a million dollar ring or necklace, but most could afford that look if it were created in sterling silver and cubic zirconia. Thanks to celebrity designers, including Nolan Miller and Charles Winston, many of today's most expensive looks can be worn by those who only watch the red carpet from afar as opposed to actually walking on it.

Celebrity Babies – Don't Hide Them, Parents!

Hollywood is full of paparazzi that want to get that perfect picture of a celebrity, so they can sell it to the media and make a lot of money. They will go to almost any length to achieve their goal. Most of the time celebrities are trying to stop the paparazzi from taking their picture, and they get mad when they are followed. Not only do the paparazzi want pictures of celebrities, but they also want pictures of their babies.

I can understand, though, a celebrity wanting to have a private life, and not be bothered all of the time. However they are celebrities, so they should expect a certain amount of intrusion on their private lives. The worst thing a celebrity can do is to try to keep the paparazzi away from seeing their babies.

The reason I believe it is not a good idea for celebrities to keep the paparazzi away from their babies is it just prolongs the amount of time you have to work to keep them away. If a celebrity would just set up a picture shoot for some of the paparazzi to take pictures of their baby, then it would be over with. Also this assures that the picture of your baby is flattering, and you can be proud of that picture for the rest of your child's life. However some celebrities take great pains to keep the paparazzi away from their babies, by keeping them covered up, staying at home, or only going places where the security is too tight for the paparazzi to get a glimpse of their baby. The biggest problem with this is that it is a burden on the parents as well as their baby. Why run around secretly for months, when you can just spend one afternoon with a group of paparazzi and be done with it? Your baby is already going to have a different life, because they are a celebrities' baby, but you could make it easier on them if you would just get the whole picture thing out of the way early on.
