street photography is not my field but it's my passion and As a semi pro i usually carry heavy stuff around but i ofeten missed my shot as the equipment was in the backpack, then a bought a g10 definitely a reliable camera for your day shots, it's fast easy and fun to bring around, picture size are defintely good, it's sharp at 100 and 200 iso it has a decent optical zoom and you can choose your settings, i even shot product photos with it and the were very decent.
i love it and would recomend it, just don't use it in auto and pretend to shoot pro pictures, do reed the book and learn a thing or two about it and about photography in general to acieve decent photos. :D

PowerShot Canon Orange A470 crazy

perfect. I have needed a digital camera for sometime, I was a little intimidated and put off buying one forever. I looked this one up in Consumer Reports which gave Canon PowerShot A470 Orange a good rating. Canon PowerShot A470 Orange is user friendly, easy to use, be sure and get a new memory card though, the one that comes with the camera holds about 4 pictures.
Great bang for the buck!!. I'm not a fan of the tiny cameras. Have 2 DSLR's (D200's) but felt I needed an easier carry around camera for hiking, fishing and vacations. A friend had the Canon A470 and raved about the image quality, simplicity amd price. Got one from Amazon and love it!! Not too small and a quick picture taker. Perfect for someone with rather large hands. Priced at a little over 100 bucks because Canon PowerShot A470 Orange does not have a huge zoom or IS, but Canon PowerShot A470 Orange does a great job for basic picture taking.
my handy canon. I recently received my camera and haven't used Canon PowerShot A470 Orange that much but plan to this weekend. So far it's very easy to use but still need to read instructions for all details. I'm a senior citizen so don't like anything with too much attention needed, just shoot and see.
The price is very good, my son bought one so thats why I got the same incase I need help.

PowerShot Canon Pink SD1200IS ok or not

Awesome little cmera. I have taken quite a few shots with Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Pink little camera and everyone has come out excellent. Outdoor color is excellent and the indoor with flash shots were all spot on for color. I have not taken any videos yet so I am not sure how Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Pink will work. Everything else is every bit as advertised. Very pleased with my choice.
Great small camera. Overall quality of this camera is really good. But I do not really like the colors of the pictures when Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Pink uses the flash. I previously owned an IXUS 750, and Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Pink was much better with the flash.
Maybe there is something I can do with the white balance, but default settings are not perfect.

Black Screen of Death!. First, I would like to say that I love Canon cameras and have owned many, including an SD1100 that worked great for me.

I have owned the SD880 for 3 weeks (bought from Amazon). I am currently on the trip of a lifetime to Rome and Paris. Today, at Pompeii, I was on a great tour and all of the sudden my LDC screen went black. The menus and playback still work, but the screen for taking pictures is totally black and the pictures are also black. The camera was in its case in my pocket at the time. Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Pink was not dropped and did not get wet. This problem is widespread and well-known on Canon cameras (Google "Canonblack screen problem"), although not many SD880's have developed the problem yet. Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Pink took the Canon S2's around 2 years before they started malfunctioning in droves. I am luckily within the return window and will do so ASAP and order something else. Thanks Canon for ruining all of my picture taking on my trip to Europe!

My other camera. The appeal of the SX10IS was its super-zoom lens. When carrying my regular cameras might be too cumbersome and awkward, I'll just slip the SX10IS into my dashboard compartment and feel I can cover most sudden desires to snap a few shots. The camera's performance comes close to excellent. I like Canon PowerShot A2100IS .
GREAT point & shoot camera. I purchased Canon PowerShot A2100IS camera to use on a visit to a game reserve in South Africa. Canon PowerShot A2100IS device is far more than a camera for "party pics". A serious photographer would aim higher, though you can capture serious images with the SX10IS. Between those boundaries, I found the convenience, flexibility, and image quality of Canon PowerShot A2100IS camera to be a marvelous combination. At $400 US retail, what a value! I enjoyed the balance and feel of the camera in my hand. The zoom made full frame shots a breeze. The video feature is easy to use, and the image is of very good quality. I took two 8 gig cards. In four days, I almost filled one. I bought a brick of batteries, but changed batteries once. The image stabilization works very well. On the long zooms I used a monopod for additional stability. If you want to shoot five or ten frames per second, spend four times as much. If you're happy to snap every 1.4 seconds, save your money. The microphones work well. They do pick up the sound of the zoom lens operation. I'm gifting one of these cameras to a friend. I find I've taken more pictures in the last month than I have the past year. Canon PowerShot A2100IS camera is great FUN.
I love this camera!. I want to preface and say that I am not a professional photographer, but an amateur amateur photographer. I like to take quality pictures without having to go thru alot of hassle. My previous camera was a Kodak Easyshare C875, which is a great camera and allowed me to take some pretty awesome shots...but I knew i was ready for more. I take my friends' kids' pictures in every season...again, its really just for practice for me, and she reaps the benefit.

So I do my homework and read reviews on this camera, and pretty much everyone who uses Canon PowerShot A2100IS likes it. I get Canon PowerShot A2100IS in my hands finally and i LOVE the way Canon PowerShot A2100IS feels....it is a little bulky, but I like the weight in my hands. I love the swing out LCD screen, which also doubles as a protective measure for Canon PowerShot A2100IS too. The pictures I have taken so far with this camera have been of amazing quality, and print out fantastic. I like that this camera is great for people of all abilities too....as I learn more about photography, I can do more with the camera. But someone could even "point and click" with this camera too. I cant wait to be able to get more out of this camera. I love it!

Silver PowerShot Canon SD1200IS and you

nice little camera. Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver camera was a gift and the second digital canon camera that I own.
This camera takes great pictures- the flash response time coming back for the next picture is slower than I would have liked, but the quality of the pictures and the large viewing screen make up the difference. My powershot S3IS takes great pictures also- even in the dark without flash.
I would recomend Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver camera to anyone.
Great results. Great pictures with this camera. Plenty of options, maybe too many but you obviously can pick what you want to use. Better low light results than I had with my old Kodak DX7630. Good size for someone with larger hands but compact enough to keep in coat pocket. Only downside is that Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver does not have a viewfinder, which I like to use in bright light conditions but I am adapting.
Canon make another winner.. I was looking for an upgrade to my previous camera, the Canon Powershot A75, which had served me extremely well over 4 years. I purchased an Olympus camera, which despite its high price, I found in my opinion terrible in comparison to my old Canon.

As the camera was for our honeymoon, I decided to buy another camera. Unfortunately I purchased the Olympus online at a store that does not offer refunds or exchange on poor choice. Expensive lesson learned there.

I purchased the Canon SX110IS from a bricks and mortar store with refund/exchange policy, for peace of mind. Just days before I had recommended friends buy a Canon, and they bought this camera, and when I saw their shots, I knew this was the camera for me.

Straight away I felt so relieved and happy that I had purchased another Canon. Beautiful shots even on Auto and Easy modes, with lots of other modes and settings to play around with if you wish.

The most important thing about a camera to me is that Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver takes great pictures on Auto - as I dont like to spend much time playing around, I just like to have fun snapping.

The canon has the same size LCD as the Olympus, but the quality of the pixels is MUCH better, and clearer.

Image Stabiliser is excellent, (it stabilises the LENS, not the camera body like other cameras),sometimes my hands get shaky with some pictures, but they still come out absolutely beautifully.

The colour is amazing, pictures are crisp and sharp, even in low light. I took pictures in a completely dark room and they came out great. I don't mind waiting for the flash to recharge,it does not let you take pictures till Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver is recharged. In the Olympus I erroneously bought, you had no idea whether the flash was charged or still charging, so you could make the mistake of taking shots too quickly in low light.

The camera body feels very sturdy in your hands and you can easily grip it, your hand can wrap around where you see the silver bit, near the words PowerShot SX110. This is in contrast to slimline cameras that probably look prettier this camera. I'd rather have sturdy, especially with such a big lens and zoom. I was, however, surprised when I saw the camera "in the flesh" Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver is a lot smaller than I imagined.

Don't worry about lifting the flash (Where canon is written), it's not a bother at all, and the camera (at least in Auto and Easy mode) suggests you lift the flash when Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver deems Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver appropriate. If you lift Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver and have the flash on auto, Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver wont fire unless required. I just lift the flash whenever I take pictures, but Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver will only fire when needed.

Canon have improved their picture program for the computer too, but some people may not think the program gives you enough to play around with and may seek other programs.

One thing that i think would be neat would be the ability to change pictures to black and white or sepia on the camera. That is about the only thing that Olympus did that the Canon didn't do thousands of times better.

Overall, I think the camera's brilliant. I will never buy anything but Canon again.

PowerShot SD1200IS Canon line

SX10IS Powershot. I have been using the SX10IS for over a month. I will only echo the positive reviews already posted. I'm still in the process of exploring and expermenting with the special features of this camera. The result has been some very excellent and beautiful prints.

The only two negitive things that I find annoying, is the unattached lens cap and the instruction manual. Other reviews mentioned the lens cap problem. I wish there was a better way have this cap less likely to be misplaced. The manual presents a good amount of information in a very compact booklet. After several days of using this manual Canon PowerShot SD1200IS broke apart into several loose pages.

I do not have any negitive comments for the camera. I am very happy with the features and operation of this product. I would recomment this camera to anybody that wants the ease of use of a point-and-shoot model and the many features that are available to you for photographic creativity.
CANON SX10 IS - No buyer's remorse here. Pros: Zoom, Zoom, Zoom

Cons: The added expense of the auxiliary flash, top of the line tripod, bird feeder station, new designer handbag (to carry Canon PowerShot SD1200IS around, of course), etc. OK you caught me, none of this stuff was necessary; Canon PowerShot SD1200IS just enhanced my own personal pleasure.

I own a small Canon PowerShot for convenience and bought this as a companion strictly because of the 20x optical zoom. I didn't think I would be using the SX10 as my primary camera because of its large size and removable lens cap. NOT TRUE! My small camera has not been used since I received this one. The pictures are so incredible that friends cannot believe they came from a point and shoot.

My biggest surprises with this camera are the crispness of the digital zoom (80x total zoom), macro mode closeness, non-yellowing of indoor shots and video, and the lack of sensitivity of the focus feature built into the shutter button. These alone make the camera a good choice but there is so much more. If you want to know about all of the features, there are plenty of technical reviews or better yet, check out the owner's manual on Canon's web site.

Amazon's price and earned reputation as a reliable retailer make Canon PowerShot SD1200IS the choice supplier of this camera.

For those who have yet to crossover, digital cameras are fun; you do not incur the expense of film and developing so you tend to use Canon PowerShot SD1200IS more often. Instead of telling your family and friends "you should have seen what happened today", take a picture and show them.

Black 10 Canon MP A480 must go on

Good camera. Canon A480 10 MP Black is a very good camera, takes good clear pictures and I like the display automatically changing depending on which way you hold the camera. one of the best features is the optical viewfinder. Canon A480 10 MP Black truly comes in handy when the battery power is low. Overall Canon A480 10 MP Black is an excellent camera.
Solid camera . Canon A480 10 MP Black is a good solid camera with a great screen and easy to use menu. The only downside is that you have to set the camera for the proper usage in order to get the best pictures
SD1100. Wonderful SMALL camera. I set Canon A480 10 MP Black on Auto and click away and every pic has turned out very clear. Software installation went off without a hitch and camera transfers pics over in an instant. Display is nice and bright. Battery seems to keep the camera running for forever. Still has viewfinder that's being dropped off of a lot of other cameras. I bought the gray case for the SD1000 that Amazon sells and Canon A480 10 MP Black fits the SD1100 perfectly. A little snug at first and then stretches out. Really need the case to protect the camera if you throw Canon A480 10 MP Black in a pack with cellphones etc. Bought 2GD memory card and Canon A480 10 MP Black seems to hold a whole day the way I shoot but if I had Canon A480 10 MP Black to do over I'd probably get 4GB. All in all this camera surpassed my expectations.

10 A480 Canon Silver MP problem!

GREAT CAMERA FOR THE PRICE!. We like this camera because: easy to use, picture quality is good, compact size but not too small, great price $109 on Amazon. I wish the camera came with rechargeable batteries, but I can buy those separately. Also, Canon A480 10 MP Silver would have been nice if Canon A480 10 MP Silver came with a big SDHC card. Overall, I would definitely recommend this camera at this price!
Great Camera!!. This is great camera!, after reviewing different models and brands I choose this in particular and I have been using Canon A480 10 MP Silver in every ocassion that I can. Although Canon A480 10 MP Silver has an ¨Auto mode¨ I prefer to use Canon A480 10 MP Silver in the ¨Program mode¨ which lets me modify the settings according to my personal needs and Canon A480 10 MP Silver works fine! I am thinking in getting in the future the cannon G10 for more serious shots.

Canon Powershot A590 digital. This is a great little camera that makes picture taking fun and simple. Canon A480 10 MP Silver has something for everyone, the novice as well as the more advanced photographer,and the value for the dollar can't be beat!

Beautiful camera with one major shortcoming. I was attracted to this camera as a new version of the A460, which was highly rated by PC World. Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue is indeed very simple to use with a large LCD display, much greater resolution than the A70 I bought five years ago, and uses a 2 GB memory chip. The drawback is that the camera has no view finder. You take a picture by looking at Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue in the LCD display. great camera in little package. I could not be happier with this camera, and you certainly can't beat Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue for the price. The screen is surprisingly large for a small camera and the quality of the photos is fabulous. I can carry Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue around in my purse and have Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue on hand for spontaneous shots. The fact that Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue uses regular batteries is a blessing and a curse. At least if Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue runs out and your on vacation and out and about you can buy batteries anywhere instead of having to wait until you can charge it. But the downside is that they seem to get used up fairly quickly.

I'm really pleased I got this one and not a more pricey version. I have my Rebel SLR for high ed use and this for everyday.

Best camera I've ever had!!. I am extremely happy with Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver camera!! Very easy to use!! Takes great photos!! It's definateley woth the money!!
Great for the price. I didn't have nor wanted to waste the extra money on the xsi. Spend your money on nice lenses. That is what will make the big difference in your photos not the body so much. Canon Rebel XS. This is a great camera. It's light but durable. The controls are easy to use and sensible. The kit lens is much better than kit lenses on the previous digital Rebels. And the image stabilizer really works. Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver would be nice to have higher ISO than 1600. But images taken at ISO 1600 have less "noise" than with my original digital Rebel or my XTi. Great camera.

MP Digital SD780IS Canon PowerShot Camera 12.1 forever

Great Little Camera. This is a fine little camera: light, compact, and easy to carry around. I own a Canon 1D Mk II, but Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera is too big and heavy to carry when I am out trekking. Fitted with better lenses than the kit lens, the Xsi has become my favorite camera. I recommend purchasing the body only, and buying better lenses.
Excellent but needs some time to master it!. Pros: 12MP, features: one of the more complete entry level DSLR, ergonomic, weight, lens kit, image quality, cheap IS lens complement: canon IS 55-250mm, canon community of expert users, canon software, live view, speed

Cons: price not only the camera but as well the other canon accessories like the flash, , grip.... need as well to invest time since Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera is more complex than a Point & shoot(read below)

I bought the 450D/XSI since around 3 weeks and Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera is my first DSLR. My previous camera was a canon Point & Shoot (P&S) with which I felt limited although I was shooting times to times in manual mode.
One of the reasons that encouraged me to stay with canon was the good quality of my previous camera and because the canon cameras interface is quite similar (this saves time). The 450D/XSI is an excellent camera and the kit lens is very good and Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera can be complemented for a limited budget (less than 300$) with the good canon IS 55-250mm.

I will not do a technical review as a lot of experts already did. [...] My advise or comment is for the people who are upgrading to a DSLR: you need to spend time to learn photography techniques and how your XSI/DSLR works. If you are buying this camera for just using the automatic mode Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera is not a wise investment (although the XSI automatic mode is excellent as well) and you can find cheaper and better alternatives (point &shoots, some other DSLR like the XT....

In addition I read in forums a lot of questions/remarks that would not have been raised if the people took 5 minutes to read the user guides or if they experimented by them self.

After around 1000 shots with the XSI my photos improved significantly thanks as well to the use of the canon post processing software delivered with the camera. But I am still far from using the full potential of this camera
What a great dSLR for a beginner!. Add my voice to the chorus singing the praises of this little camera! This is my very first SLR, though I've had a string of digital point-and-shoots, and this camera is such a step up, it's like magic. There is so much to learn, and this is just the camera to learn on. You can put Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera all on auto and use Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera just like a point-and-shoot, and get better pictures. Or you can really delve into the art of photography; this camera is so user-friendly.

The kit lens is just fine for my needs -- I'm sure I'll want faster, longer, etc, but this is flexible enough to start on.

Does Battery Canon CBK4-300 Rechargeable really work?

Great Batteries. I have noticed an over all performance upgrade in my Canon A630 since purchasing these batteries. They last a long time and the Camera operates faster all together. The lag time has reduced in between photos trememndously. I love Canon CBK4-300 Rechargeable Battery .
Agrivation saver!. These rechargable batteries and charging unit have saved me untold agrivation from dead or untimely battery failure. One of the worst was needing to take a last picture or two and have the batteries die in the camera and no new ones available.

If you take pictures with modern high power consuming cameras with big memories, you will need one of these. Canon CBK4-300 Rechargeable Battery kind of agrivation will be a thing of the past.

Where to get MP SD780IS Canon 12.1 PowerShot

Good starting DSLR that will grow with you.. I upgraded from an earlier version of this line to the XSi and have been very happy with both cameras. My primary use of the camera is nature photos to display in my home. I chose to upgrade for the greater number of pixels so I can increase the size of my prints. The camera is simple enough for a beginner and deep enough for a student of photography. Cannon support is good and accessories are easy to find. I would definitely buy this camera again and recommend Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP to all of my friends.
Happy Camper. I'm really happy with Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP purchase. I went with the body only and bought a 50mm to be the primary lens. I've been using Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP camera for about a week now without even unwrapping the instruction manual (although I will Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP weekend, as I know there is much to learn). Pictures have turned out great - the 50mm lens operates very well in low-light situations. Now I just need to save up for a macro lens!
Worth every penny. I have had a Canon A620 for about 2 years before this. Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP was an awesome P&S, but Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP died after going through a whole lot of pain and agony that I put Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP through (sandy beaches, construction sites, oily garages). I decided to upgrade to a DSLR this time around and had been researching them for about 3-4 months. I was set on buying a D60 for a while and then the Rebel XS came out so I started comparing features and then saw that for a little bit more, I could get the XS which would have Live View, AEB and some other cool stuff. But at that point, the Xsi was only about 30 bucks away, so I dropped the cash and I must say I AM VERY HAPPY with my purchase. Nothing to really say about Amazon, their shipping was ridiculous as usual (came in exactly 2 days after I ordered - wish other places would mean 2-day when they say 2 day shipping). The camera itself is a dream to use. The Live View makes a big difference if you are sitting Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP on a tree stump or a tripod and composing with a little bit more stability. The camera feels solid in your hands and the lenses take a beating (actually hit the kit lens against a door once when turning around). The grips on the kit lens seem like plastic yet somehow feel rubbery - but in the end, my fingers love em and I haven't had any problems with prolonged contact while trying to get focus/zoom juuust right.

The rubber grips on the Xsi aren't exactly cushion-y, but the texture on the grips makes the camera body feel more secure in your hands (definitely worth the extra 30 or so bucks). You also get the proximity sensor for the LCD (turns Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP off if its close to your face) and the extra 2 MP (more cropping!).

That said, the camera strap leaves you wanting for something better. Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP looks nice, but its a little small if you are a big guy and its not padded at all so Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP feels a little tough on your neck - so factor in some extra spending money for a good strap and/or a good bag.

If you are buying this as a first time DSLR user, its a good investment (you can of course settle for something less... no problem with that, but you might as well drop the money for the best in this price range of DSLRs). Be prepared to get a LOT of bad pictures in your first couple of weeks with a DSLR as you get used to judging your shots on the review LCD after your take em, but after you do... the extra speed and better quality lenses are completely worth it.

P.S. Don't underestimate that wide angle kit lens - you get some amazing shots, especially when you are dealing with landscapes.

Pocket perfect. This camera has all the features a point and shoot needs. And you can carry canon powershot a480 10 mp anywhere. Make sure and buy a 1 gig or higher memory card. Terrific!. canon powershot a480 10 mp is a super little camera. Red eye correction works great on adults...baby (newborn) faces aren't easily recognized and the camera red eye correction doesn't always work on them either. Adobe Photoshop seems a better solution. Cool. Its beautiful, handy and pictures are nice. I bought this for my daughter and she is so excited. I will update the review after using canon powershot a480 10 mp for some more time.

NB-7L Battery Canon information

Same as original!. A must have for your SD950IS, because you never know when you need a backup battery! I like Canon NB-7L Battery .
Battery in Chicago. Can this battery start up a car in the middle of a Chicago winter? NO.. don't be silly. It's a camera battery and Canon NB-7L Battery works fine. Delivery was on time and it's all good. :-)
Canon NB-5L Battery Pack. The battery I got has a terrible quality. With a full charge over night (~8 hours), the battery only sustained my SD800 IS camera less than 12 hours normal usage, shot around 20 pictures. Versus to the original battery pack with the camera, the original battery can last over two days normal usage, shot around> 100 pictures. I believe the vendor selling degraded products. I like Canon NB-7L Battery .

Mp canon 12.1 powershot sd780is crazy

My favorite camera. This has been the best camera I have ever owned. I love it's small and portable size (I pretty much take canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp everywhere) and the pictures are crisp and beautiful. I rarely have to do much post processing because they really turn out wonderful straight out of the camera.

I would be lost without my little cybershot buddy!

A Point & Shoot - That Shoots Like An SLR. My primary camera is a Nikon D300! I have times where using Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP camera is simply not prudent. The Nikon 5100 is frankly the best possible answer! It's F stop is adjustable down to approx. 2.8 and the lens lets in plenty of light. The addition of the adapter ring allows you to use "Wide Angle" & "Telephoto" lens made by Nikon!
Great advanced P&S digital. I use 35mm and 6x6 film cameras and wanted a good, small, non-SLR digital camera to throw in a camera bag and use on shoots to preview shots and do lighting tests. True this doesn't have the range of my pro lenses but has the ability to attach speedlights (it even works with NON-iTTL flashes like the SB-28 if you set Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP up properly) and allows me to attach my radio transmitter to the hotshoe and remotely fire my strobes for test shots.

And it's a good performer in it's own right. The advanced features are great, and it's intuitive and easy to use. The magnesium & rubber construction has a quality feel that makes Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP feel a rugged as my pro Nikon gear, and it's rangefinder-like design looks surprisingly similar to the great Mamiya 6 (though much smaller of course).

Great photos, excellent adjustment and customization, versatile, compact, rugged, and well designed. Can be simple & fully automated for the pointer-and-shooter, and can get out of the way and let an experienced photographer take full control when needed. As for speed, anyone who has worked with film in low light will not be bothered by the speed of this camera or the resulting image quality in the same situations.

This is a great little digital camera, maybe one of the best non-slr choices out there.
Absolutely one of the best point and shoot cameras available!. I was in the market for the P5000 and found Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP was not available so I acquired the P5100 instead. What a fantastic camera! I recently also purchased a Pentax K10d (and it's a great camera but a bit too heavy to carry around on this old neck for any length of time) but this is the camera I use most and I carry Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP with me everywhere. The program modes are terrific and combined with the SB400 Speedlight this little jewel is just about impossible to beat. The price is great and the camera itself is very high quality construction. The all magnesium body feels great in your hands and the controls are all very handy and easily operated, even in very low lighting conditions. One added plus is the camera will allow you to record audio captions for each picture or you can also record audio alone. The video capture works very well and it's quite handy if you don't happen to have a video camera with you at the time and still want to be able to provide that little 'extra'. One very cool feature is the Panoramic Mode, which provides a 'ghost' image on 1/3 of the LCD screen that allows you to consistently match up with the previous image and makes Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP very easy to take images that stitch together flawlessly. Nikon really did a great job with this camera! Get one and you will absolutely be pleased with it. Don't forget to get the Nikon carrying case as well, which makes Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP very convenient to carry. Of course the previously owned Coolpix lenses and other accessories work with the P5100 as you would expect them to, flawlessly. This camera comes to as near to perfection as you'll find in a reasonably priced point and shoot.

Great little camera. When I don't want to tote around my bulky DSLR, the SD950IS does a great job. I can carry Canon PowerShot SX200IS 12 MP in my shirt pocket and hardly know it's there. The shutter lag is shorter than other P&S cameras I've owned. Sharp pictures too.
Good compact camera!. Canon PowerShot SX200IS 12 MP is an excellent, well-built and compact camera overall. Canon PowerShot SX200IS 12 MP does most of things well for its size. No camera is perfect for all occasions. However, the design of Powershot cameras needs to be updated soon!
Best PowerShot Yet! Highly Recommended!. This is my second PowerShot in the series. I loved my SD900, but Canon PowerShot SX200IS 12 MP didn't have Image Stabilization. Canon PowerShot SX200IS 12 MP makes a huge difference on this current camera and the pictures look much better. I think the colors are a bit more vibrant too. I bought Canon PowerShot SX200IS 12 MP as my "carry camera" when I don't want to lug around my Rebel XT. Nice small camera. Fits well in my shirt pocket. Very sturdy feel and construction. May be too small for people with big hands. Picture quality is great.

The SD950IS looks almost identical to the earlier models and shares the nice sturdy, high-quality feel that has made these cameras quite popular.

I had a great time with the earlier version of this camera on my trip to Disney World. Was able to tweak the ISO settings to take pictures w/o flash in very dim areas. ISO 3200 mode was quite fun to play with. You pay a price for the noise introduced in the pictures, but it's still a clear picture where you may not normally be able to take one. At normal ISO settings, the pictures are clear with vibrant colors. The Image stabilization on the SD950IS should make for even more flexibility and fun.

I've also been impressed by the movie mode on this camera and it's ability to make decent (not fantastic) movies in fairly low light.

Like others, I wish the camera had more manual control, but for most purposes it's fine. When I need more control, I can use my Rebel XT. Suggest you buy at least a 2GB SD card. I also recommend Lowepro Ridge 10 (Arctic Blue) as a small camera case.

Get 10MP Purple A1000IS Canon now

Quality and ease. The Powershot A1000IS has given me great pix! Canon A1000IS 10MP Purple is very easy to use; even has a setting for easiest use!
It also has the flexibility to do many types of serious shots, with the added feature of image stability. The range of picture quality is helpful, as are special settings for night, sunset, aquarium (which works well when shooting through car windows),beach, and snow, in addition to the "auto" setting. I like the kids/pets setting which captures moving objects. I started getting great shots immediately, and after having a chance to read the entire manual, I am getting even better shots! Comes with a photo program, or you can edit a bit and print directly from the camera.
New to Digital Photography-Canon served me well. I bought this Canon Powershot just before leaving on a family trip and had just a few hours to familiarize myself with Canon A1000IS 10MP Purple before putting Canon A1000IS 10MP Purple to work. Given my lack of familiarity with any digital cameras, I have little with which to make a comparison, however, I found the camera easy to use and was very satisfied with the resulting pictures.
I was warned by my sister that the capacity of the memory card supplied with the camera would be too small, so I immediately bought another card. If I hadn't been forewarned, I certainly would have been disappointed on my trip.
Finally, in the course of two weeks I took about 300 photographs and ran through three sets of batteries. The 2x batteries are inexpensive and easy to find, but I don't know if that rate of use is par for the course.
Overall, I was pleased with the ease of use and the quality of the pictures.
Very nice compact camera. I have owned another Canon powershot. I researched other cameras but Canon has nice point and shoot cameras. Screen is nice size and pictures come out very clear and crisp. I was able to use Canon A1000IS 10MP Purple right out of the box. If you cannot afford the SLR cameras, this is a nice one for anyone.

Don't think about Powershot SD990IS Canon 14.7MP Silver

Fantastic Camera. I have now owned three different Canon cameras since I bought my first in 1999. My previous camera, an S60 was fantastic due to the fact that I could have more fine-grain control over my pictures than your typical point-and-shoot camera. Canon Powershot SD990IS 14.7MP Silver camera can do everything the S60 could and has a much higher resolution.

Perfect For Me!. I love my new camera. The camera offers many different settings! I went snowboarding in Mammoth this weekend and set the camera to "SNOW" and the pictures came out so clear. I thought when ordering this camera the battery was the same as my old powershot and it's not. So rather than using my old battery I had to buy a new one. The one thing on this camera that looks like Canon Powershot SD990IS 14.7MP Silver might break easily is the Memory & Battery cover. It's plastic so I make sure I am extra careful opening Canon Powershot SD990IS 14.7MP Silver to remove the battery and/or memory stick.

Powerful Little Gem. I got the early version of this camera in Japan, sold as the IXY 3000 IS and am head over heels in love; this replaces an SD800IS which was a long time favorite. The new one got my attention for the whopping 14.7 MP as I have been using this for taking panoramas on a GigaPan rig - [...]-- and more pixels count for much there. Plus there is the full manual (focus and exposure modes). And then there was the thrill of getting a new camera a few weeks before Canon Powershot SD990IS 14.7MP Silver was available in the US.

Mine is set up with an 8GB SD HC card, which feels infinite.

The new QuickShot mode is nice- to shoot through viewfinder where you want the quickest response time. And a bonus is a long overlooked feature- an on screen battery level indicator. There is a small button where you can instantly go to view mode, rather than flipping the shooting mode. Face focussing is very handy. Video quality is superb. Having the camera stitch mode (used for getting good overlap for single row panoramas) on the presets selection is great. And w00t! Canon Powershot SD990IS 14.7MP Silver uses the same NB-5L battery, so I now have more spares.

My negatives are minor- the black style is slick, but the plastic shell feels a little cheap/flimsy, but the camera is sturdy. My biggest gripe is the latch on the battery/SD card compartment comes open easily in your bag or your pocket; the one on the SD800 never popped open on its own. The latch for the USB dock too is odd, Canon Powershot SD990IS 14.7MP Silver is hard to figure out where the hinge part is, and I always feel like I am going to do Canon Powershot SD990IS 14.7MP Silver wrong and break Canon Powershot SD990IS 14.7MP Silver off.

Spinning the lower selection wheel takes some dexterity; so setting the aperture and f/stops in manual mode is going to take some time to be a smooth process.

I've never bought a camera just because Canon Powershot SD990IS 14.7MP Silver has a large resolution, but I am shooting 4416x3312, better than my first generation Digital Rebel.

I am in love with this little camera!

Where to get 8MP PowerShot SD1100IS Canon Pink

Great Camera. This is a great camera. Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP Pink fulfilled all of my expectations and more! It's lightweight, easy to use, and produces great photos. Definitely a must-have for moms on the go!
Excellent for a point-and-shoot, and now an excellent value. Now that Canon and its rivals are offering numerous compact and ultracompact point-and-shoot cameras in the 10-12 megapixel range, the price on this 8 megapixel unit has dropped dramatically. But don't be fooled by the notion that more megapixels is better -- in this class of camera, it's not necessarily true. Unless the sensor is larger, which Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP Pink generally isn't, you will often not see any difference in the 10 and 12 MP cameras. In fact, you might get more noise. You are also likely to get a longer delay between shots. So if you are buying a high end digital SLR, sure, go for 12, 14, or now even 16 megapixels. But for a point-and-shoot compact, 7 or 8 MP is more than adequate.

This model offers 8 MP, face detection, and a variety of shooting modes that can be easily selected from a menu. Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP Pink provides excellent results for everyday photography. Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP Pink is also extremely compact and easily fits in a pocket or purse. If you want a camera to take along wherever you go, this is a must-have. It's also an incredible value, now available for as little as $160-$180.

If you buy this camera, note that Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP Pink only includes a 32 MB memory card, which holds roughly 10-12 photos. You will certainly want to purchase a good, fast card. The SanDisk Extreme 4 GB works great and will hold over 1000 photos at the highest resolution (1800-2500 at lower image settings). You can now get one for $30-$45. Also, you may want to get an extra battery. Lenmar makes a good Canon equivalent that you can get for about $10. (Beware of no-name knockoffs that cost $2 or $3!)

Overall, excellent ultracompact point-and-shoot camera. Get this item to have with you all the time. (And save up $1000-$3000+ for a high-end digital SLR if you have serious, semi-pro photography needs).

Cool 10MP Silver PowerShot Canon IS SD770

Very nice pictures and movies.. I am very impressed that such a small camera can take such good pictures. There are so many features packed into it, but for the most part you can just leave Canon PowerShot SD770 IS 10MP Silver on auto and get good shots. The best thing about this is the size. I have two kids, and we have enough stuff to lug around when we goto the park or the zoo and my old camera was just getting to heavy to hang around my neck. This camera easily slipped into my front pants pocket! So far, very pleased with this purchase.
I'm delighted!!. I had done some shopping before realizing that Amazon offered the best price on the camera I desired. Service was excellent - I received the camera VERY quickly, using the basic option. And what an excellent camera Canon PowerShot SD770 IS 10MP Silver is. I'm very pleased.
Nice camera, with faults. Nice little camera. Takes decent pictures. But the flash is anemic (don't use Canon PowerShot SD770 IS 10MP Silver for subjects more than 8 feet away) and doesn't like to be turned off. In fact, there doesn't appear to be a way to keep the flash off when using the camera in automatic mode. Each time you turn the camera on, Canon PowerShot SD770 IS 10MP Silver defaults to auto-flash (which usually produces poorly exposes pictures), so unless you remember to manually turn the flash off each time, you'll waste battery and get bad pix. The only way to override this is to set the camera to manual mode, where the flash-off setting will remain fixed until you turn the flash on. Really annoying. Otherwise, a very nice camera.

Silver Powershot SX110IS Canon 9MP line

Unbeatable for the cost. Canon has always come through for me with cameras. The pictures are always vivid and clear and easy to shoot. I have not had a chance to play extensively with the more advanced features yet, but with what I have seen, I cannot expect for $200. I only wish.. Canon would put the swivelling lcd screen on all their models. I nearly paid anothe $150 for the SX10 simply because of it.

Canon Powershot SX110IS. Its a great camera for the price ~ would highly recommend . Bought the camera based on the reviews - which were accurate ( and yes - the only dumb thing is the battery / memory card holder - certainly not a deal breaker though ) I enjoy Canon Powershot SX110IS 9MP Silver .
Dissatisfaction. I bought this camera because of "Canon" brand which besides 9 MPix had very good zoom (10 Optical).This is my first Canon, I have used Kodak Digital Camera in the past. But I would say I am not satisfied with the results I got from Canon.

Barring battery life (better use rechargable batteries than the alkaline), the biggest drawback which turned me off is the flash (its pop up flash which I thought may be better than inbuilt imbedded ones) which makes indoor/night images yellowish in color.Maybe that's why Canon Powershot SX110IS 9MP Silver is priced at lower side. I am not a professional or expert but I would definitely disagree with those who are giving this camera 5 stars.

I would say that video quality was satisfactory. The day light images were satisfactory and I used to get quite nice images with my old Kodak Camera (4 MPix) too.

My old Kodak camera with inside flash gave better indoor/night pictures, with no yellowness to the images what so ever.

10MP 6x Canon Optical A2000IS to you

This camera is awesome!. I am by no means a camera expert, I do not know how the majority of the functions work on this camera - but I will say Canon A2000IS 10MP 6x Optical takes outstanding photos. There is no blurring even at the tighest zoom. The image stabilizer works superb. I mostly take photos of the kids and I have not had any problem with shutter speed or the time between taking pictures. I had a Canon prior to this and this one is much better. I am very happy with my camera!

Great buy. Bought Canon Powershot A1000IS 10MP camera for our 14 year old daughter as a Christmas gift. Easy to use. Really great pictures. Got a great price.
Easy to use and excellent photos. Canon Powershot A1000IS 10MP camera Canon A1000IS if just want I needed and looked for. It's easy to use for taking shots for a book I'm writing in dark and light situations. I find it's difficult to work the battery hold and sometimes can't open the cover easily. Otherwise, no complaints. I recommend Canon Powershot A1000IS 10MP camera cameera for many kinds of uses.
Great Out of The Box!. I just bought Canon Powershot A1000IS 10MP camera camera today, right out of the box I was able to take great photo's. Thankfully, I had a 2gig card from my older camera, so I did not have to buy a new one as the one they give you holds next to nothing in photo's. Still great to have a card though so not picking on it. I have been wanting a small compact camera that takes great photo's. I think I found exactly like I wanted. I got mine at Target for 30 dollars more then what Amazon sells for. Still, not a bad deal. I paid less then my first camera, and still paid less then my last fugi camera that died in the first year.

PowerShot Canon MP 7.1 A470 about

great powershot. I have used this camera only a couple dozen times as we don't take many pictures except on trips and we haven't taken one recently. However, I have taken some pictures and blown them up for portrait shots and have been very impressed. I love the auto focus feature and as I wear glasses I love the using the screen to shot rather than the tiny eyeview. Canon PowerShot A470 7.1 MP is easy to use and I am very pleased.
great camera in little package. I could not be happier with this camera, and you certainly can't beat Canon PowerShot A470 7.1 MP for the price. The screen is surprisingly large for a small camera and the quality of the photos is fabulous. I can carry Canon PowerShot A470 7.1 MP around in my purse and have Canon PowerShot A470 7.1 MP on hand for spontaneous shots. The fact that Canon PowerShot A470 7.1 MP uses regular batteries is a blessing and a curse. At least if Canon PowerShot A470 7.1 MP runs out and your on vacation and out and about you can buy batteries anywhere instead of having to wait until you can charge it. But the downside is that they seem to get used up fairly quickly.

I'm really pleased I got this one and not a more pricey version. I have my Rebel SLR for high ed use and this for everyday.
great camera. It's a great camera for newbies like my parents. They can easily use the camera to its best advantage, and aren't tripped up by any doo-hickies. They love their Christmas present. I like Canon PowerShot A470 7.1 MP .

Crazy on Digital PowerShot A470 7MP Camera Canon

Great Camera for the price!. I bought this camera for my 8 year old daughter to use (she has taken great photos with it). Canon PowerShot A470 7MP Digital Camera is a simple camera, with not a huge number of settings and great video capacity. I also ended using Canon PowerShot A470 7MP Digital Camera a lot because Canon PowerShot A470 7MP Digital Camera is so light weight and compact (can fit in a pocket). We are very happy with this camera and with good rechargeable batteries Canon PowerShot A470 7MP Digital Camera has a nice battery life. A "1 G card" works well, you should buy one with the camera. I would recommend this camera.
I love this thing. I'm not a fancy photographer, I just want to point and click. This baby is easy to use and powerful enough for everyday shots. Canon PowerShot A470 7MP Digital Camera replaces a PowerShot 2MP so the detail in my images is a real step up for me. Also, I usually don't care about a gadget's aesthetics vs its utility, but I love that it's cute and shiny. :D Looks great IRL. Adorama Camera delivered fast in perfect condition at a great price.
Great little camera. I purchased this camera for my 86 year old mother after her film-type SLR gave up the ghost. She was able to use Canon PowerShot A470 7MP Digital Camera immediately right out of the box with almost no instruction. The picture quality is excellent and the camera is versatile and quite easy to use. I would recommend the Power Shot A470 for anyone looking for a really good point and shoot camera. The layout of the controls and the easily understood menu make the camera a real delight to use.

Canon Powershot A1000IS 10MP ok or not

rew. Great service and great product. Was for a intro digital photo class, and is perfect especially for cost. Nice to be able to use "normal" aa batts too. I enjoy Canon Powershot A1000IS 10MP .
I love almost everything about my A1000. I got this camera a few weeks ago to replace a previous Canon digital camera (the A540) that I absolutely loved. So far I've been very happy with this one, with one glaring exception - not specifically about the camera itself, but rather the software that comes with it.

I'm an amateur photographer and find that this type of point-and-shoot works well for me - especially since Canon Powershot A1000IS 10MP has a 4x optical zoom which gives clearer, more vivid photos. I really like how easy the Canon cameras are to use and the range of features - and this one doesn't disappoint. I also like the 2.5" LCD and the fact that this camera is small enough to easily fit in a pocket or purse. It's really very versatile and I love that about it.

The only things that I really can complain about are that I do somewhat miss the chunky handgrip on my previous Canon, but that's not a huge deal. What IS a huge deal, for me anyway, is their 'updated' version of the Camera Window software that comes with this camera. This is the software that you run to download photos from the camera - and I can't believe how horrible this particular version is. The previous version that I used with my other Canon camera was great - Canon Powershot A1000IS 10MP was windows-based and you could select any photos on your card then download, print or delete them as you wished. However, in this new version - it's got a black interface, no text by the icons to tell you what they do - and there is no way to delete the photos from your card. I e-mailed Canon to double-check and was told that yes, this is the case - you have to use Windows Explorer to delete your photos. Why I would want to use two different programs when before I could easily use just one is beyond me... I'm going to re-install the old version that I have and hope that Canon Powershot A1000IS 10MP will work with this camera, because I am incredibly annoyed with the new version right now.

Other than the software issue, I love this camera and think that it's a very good choice for someone who wants a camera that takes a great quality photo and is easy to use and carry around. I only hope that Canon will re-think the Camera Window decision - I'm a loyal Canon enthusiast, but am very disappointed in them right now.
Great Camera. This is a great point-and-shoot camera. Canon Powershot A1000IS 10MP fits in my pocket and is great for traveling!

Is SD1100IS 8MP Canon PowerShot suck?

Great tiny little camera. I got this camera a little over a month ago. I still have a lot to learn. I like to try and play around with buttons and features before reading the manual. I still haven't read a lot of the manual so this is just from experience.

Cannons are excellent cameras. The only reason i decided to replace my older cannon was because I am getting married, going to Hawaii and I wanted something a little newer/better for the trip of a lifetime.

My old cannon still works fine and i plan on keeping Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP as a backup.

Ok- on to my review.

Battery life is excellent. I had the camera for over a month, used Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP a lot (especially playing around with the new features) and finally just had to charge the battery. I bought a spare battery so i never missed a shot.

The flash is great- I seem to always have red eyes in every photo when a flash is used - this one is one of the better red eye reductions. I only had red eyes in about half the shots (which for me is great)

There are a ton of different options as to how you can take your photo, (indoor, outdoor, beach, sunrise, color swap, fireworks, pets, kids etc etc) I thought this was neat, but according to my friend who is an artist, this is just a gag they use to sell more features. If you put your camera on "auto" Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP does all of the same things.

I haven't experimented enough to say if this is true or not.

I love the size of the screen - its definitely larger viewing then my old cannon however Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP still has a viewfinder - which i find important when owning a camera - sometimes in the dark, using the big screen is useless, you can't see anything on it, or sometimes when you ask other people to take a picture of you - they are not used to using a digital camera yet- this allows them to use the viewfinder like a regular camera and take a decent photo. Also if you god-forbid drop your camera on vacation and the screen breaks, you have a back up till you get home (i've seen this happen to people)

Transferring photos to my iphoto program in my mac is really simple, just plug in and Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP goes!

I have only played around with the video function a bit. I think Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP seems fine. If i wanted to take really nice videos i would use a video camera, but for an on the spot use- this is a great little video camera too!

Thats all i can think of for now.

I bought Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP camera to experiment my photography abilities.. and Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP is a perfect for a beginner or people who want to take serious photos.. I love the color accent feature on Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP cam.. you can get better deals elsewhere. .if amazon is expensive.. Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP is a great camera.. extremely handy and cute looking too!
Excellent little camera. I've had this camera for several months now and really like it. Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP takes clear photographs and is easy to use. I take photos at work and everybody appreciates it's speed and ease of use. Highly recommended.
